Last month, the Detroit Tigers drafted three Michigan State baseball players. Only one of the three elected to return to East Lansing for the 2015-2016 year.
In the first segment of this week’s show, Bradley Allen and Travis Stroh are joined by redshirt junior pitcher Cam Vieaux, who had a day off from playing summer-ball in the Cape Cod League.
Travis and Bradley asked Cam about his difficult decision to stay in college rather than turn pro.
After talking about the difficult decisions of college athletes contemplating going pro, the conversation shifts to talk about high school, and sometimes even middle school athletes being faced with difficult decisions – by way of NCAA scholarship offers.
Michael Higer also gives a sports update, and former WDBM sports director Brooks Laimbeer calls in to discuss recruiting ethics.
Topics include a 14-year-old’s scholarship offer from the Michigan State women’s basketball program and MSU football pulling a scholarship offer from a committed 2016 recruit.
Finally, Bradley, Travis and Michael jump back into their way-too-early predictions of MSU football. They break down the Spartan’s Big Ten opener and homecoming game on October 3 against Purdue.
Also during the show, the panel discusses the news of running back Delton Williams’ reinstatement to Michigan State football, which was announced minutes before the broadcast.
The Pact airs live on 88.9FM in the Lansing area and on Impact89fm.org every Monday at 7 p.m.
