Claire Boucher, more commonly known as Grimes, is teasing us… A few weeks ago, she released the track and music video “Realiti,” a track that was recorded in early 2013 but left strewn about on the cutting room floor. “Realiti” is reminiscent of her 2012 album Visions, but is even more accessible. And, while “Realiti” is pop carefully laced with EDM, it doesn’t incorporate heavy dubstep bass-drops as blatantly as “Go,” her 2014 collaboration with Blood Diamond (a statement I make with great relief). While I love “Realiti” on its own, it’s complemented by a gorgeous music video featuring an enticing Grimes bouncing all around Asia. Kawaii, to say the least.
