EAST LANSING– There was no shortage of Michigan State representation in the Big Ten Hockey 2024-25 Postseason Awards.
Spartans junior forward Isaac Howard was named Big Ten Player of the Year. Howard scored 24 goals and 23 assists in the regular season and was recognized as the conference scoring champion as well as leading the Spartans in both categories.
The MSU forward was in a tight race with Minnesota junior forward Jimmy Snuggerud and Penn State sophomore forward Aiden Fink, who both scored more points than Howard. However, Howard scored 33 points in conference play, which earned the forward Big Ten Scoring Champions.

The Tampa Bay Lightning prospect remains in the running for the Hobey Baker trophy, the award that is given to the best player in college hockey.
Spartans’ sophomore goaltender Trey Augustine was named Big Ten Goaltender of the Year. Augustine led the conference in with a 2.02 GAA and had an impressive save percentage of .927 percent.
Augustine is also a finalist for the AAU Sullivan Award which recognizes the best amateur athlete in American sports.
Howard and Augustine are joined with Spartans defenseman Matt Basgall on the All-Big Ten First-Team, Basgall also received a Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.
Spartans forward Karsen Dorwart was named to the All-Big Ten Honorable Mention Team for the second consecutive season.
The back-to-back Big Ten regular season champions are also striving for a repeat in the Big Ten Tournament. The Spartans will host the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday, March 22, at Munn Ice Arena.
