EAST LANSING— Michigan State football officially announced four additional signees on Wednesday for National Signing Day.
The MSU recruiting staff announced 19 signees in December but now receive three new commitments from Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Prep and Nick Hardy from Groves High School.
Antonio Johnson, Detroit MI.
High School: Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Prep
Position: OL
With help coming to the offensive line, 6-foot-4-inch 285-pound three-star offensive lineman Antonio Johnson is listed among the best overall prospects in the state of Michigan.
The Detroit native ranks No. 15 in the Class of 2025 by 247Sports, No. 19 by The Detroit News and No. 23 prospect by ESPN.
The 6-4 285 senior is ranked one of the top interior offensive linemen in the nation by ESPN (No. 64) and 247Sports (No. 75)
Darrin Jones Jr., Lake Orion MI.
High School: Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Prep
Position: RB
Another product out of OLSM, Jones Jr. is a 5-foot-10-inch 190-pound running back who eclipsed seven 100-yard rushing games. This past season Jones Jr. led Orchard Lake St. Mary’s with 1,281 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns on 161 carries (91.5 ypg; 8.0 avg).
Jones Jr. is ranked one of the top overall players in the state of Michigan in the class of 2025 by The Detroit News (No. 33) while earning honorable mention all-state recognition by the Detroit Free Press.
In one of his biggest stand-out performances of the season, Jones Jr. rushed for 181 yards and two touchdowns in the MHSAA Division Two state championship game victory over Byron Center. He also had one catch for eight yards to finish with a game-high 189 all-purpose yards.
Bryson Williams, Canton MI.
High School: Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Prep
Position: ATH
A versatile 6-foot-1-inch 215-pound athlete who played running back, wide receiver and special teams returner for OLSM.
Led the state champion Eaglets in scoring with 20 touchdowns (nine receiving, eight rushing, two kick returns, one punt return) and 124 points overall (adding two two-point conversions).
Williams combined for 1,305 all-purpose yards (575 receiving, 380 rushing, 245 kick return, 105 punt return) as a senior. Williams also led the Eaglets with 40 receptions for 575 yards and nine TD catches.
Williams is ranked as one of the top prospects in the state of Michigan by The Detroit News (No. 7), ESPN (No. 10), 247Sports (No. 14) and Rivals (No. 18).
The 6-1 hybrid is mainly listed among the best athletes in the country by ESPN (No. 21).
Nick Hardy, Birmingham, MI
High School: Groves High School
Position: WR
The 6-foot-1-inch 175-pound wide receiver was Groves High School’s first option at wideout, as he built up quite the resume throughout his time with the Falcons recording 46 receptions for 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns during his high school career.
Playing both sides of the ball, the four-year varsity athlete received honorable mention honors as a defensive back to the Detroit Free Press All-North Team and as an athlete on The Detroit News All-North Team.
Hardy joins an experienced locker room as the Spartans also brought in transfer wide-receivers Omari Kelly (Middle Tennesse) and Jaren Glover (Mississippi State).
MSU is scheduled to open spring practice on March 18.
