EAST LANSING- Michigan State volleyball returns home to the Breslin Center tonight hosting No. 2 Nebraska to kick off homecoming weekend.
Nebraska currently has an impressive 16-1 record, having won 13 straight matches. The team’s only loss on the season was against Southern Methodist.
Michigan State holds a 7-10 record but has yet to win a conference game. They opened their home Big Ten matches last weekend but fell to No. 3 Penn State and Illinois.
The Spartans are 2-26-2 all-time against the Huskers who have won the last 16 straight.
Last season against Nebraska, the MSU volleyball attendance record was set at the Breslin Center with 8789 fans.
For the Huskers, sophomore outside hitter Harper Murray leads the team with 3.21 kills per set, 18 aces, and 2.14 digs per set.
Sophomore middle blocker Andi Jackson is No. 3 nationally with her hitting percentage of .471 and 2.66 kills per set.
The Huskers hold an impressive team-hitting percentage of .294
Looking at the Spartans, senior libero Nalani Iosia is currently ranked No. 1 in the conference with 4.37 digs per set, totaling 271 digs on the season. Iosia recorded 25 digs against Illinois last weekend. This brings her total digs to 1221 in the green and white.
Sophomore middle blocker Zuzanna Kulig ranks No. 2 in the conference with 1.50 blocks per set and a total of 87 blocks. She averaged 1.63 blocks per set against Illinois last weekend.
Tonight’s match will begin at 6 p.m., and will be aired on Big Ten Network.
