Where are you from?
Grand Rapids, MI
What made you decide to join The IMPACT and become a DJ?
I joined the Impact because I love music! And I wanted to write about music on the Entertainment Team. Getting to know people at the station and seeing how much they enjoyed DJing, I thought training to become a DJ could be the icing on top of the cake of my Impact experience. All of our DJ’s energy and passion is contagious; I wanted to be a part of that.
What has been your best on-air experience?
I love getting song requests! Sometimes when you’re DJing, it can feel like you’re just playing music for yourself, but when you get a song request from one of your listeners, you know that you’re making someone’s day. It makes the experience much more personal.
Favorite song/album of 2023-2024?
I grew up on grunge, and I’ve done my time with sad indie. But right now, my true love is Korean music, specifically K-rock and K-r&b. My favorite album from 2023 is 0.1 flaws and all by wave to earth, a Korean indie pop band. It feels like a slow Sunday morning. Part lo-fi, part jazz, part bedroom pop, wave to earth captures the essence of my perfect day.
Plan a dinner in East Lansing with any person dead or alive. Who would it be? Where would you go?
I would go to Sansu with RM from BTS.
What is your comfort TV show?
I have watched all seasons of the Great British Baking Show three times through. Over the pandemic, those cheery British voices and delish desserts were my lifeline.
What’s your favorite article of clothing you own?
I have a pair of jeans I thrifted that I absolutely love. People with long legs know how challenging it is to find a nice pair of jeans that aren’t floods, and these jeans actually go down to my ankles. Also, I could take a nap in them if I wanted; they’re that comfy.
