There’s a certain kind of sentimentality associated with winter here in Michigan. After two weeks of decent weather pass on, it slowly grows colder and colder. When winter first hit, professors talked about finals week as a vague, far-off idea, but now it is something tangible and somehow happening this week, even though you could’ve sworn we were still in October.
Now, every song starts to hit differently. Since it’s regularly below freezing outside and songs you had on repeat only two weeks ago suddenly feel old, we all need some new music.
This playlist is composed of songs that, to me, just sound like winter — from slow and soft to your regularly scheduled holiday tunes, intending to capture the range of emotions with changing seasons as Mariah Carey defrosts a little more each passing day.
