EAST LANSING, Mich— A second player has entered the transfer portal for MSU since the conclusion of Saturday’s spring game.

Freshman cornerback Antoine Booth announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal on Tuesday evening. He follows running back Donovan Eaglin, who entered the portal on Tuesday.

Booth didn’t appear in a game this season for MSU and will have four years of eligibility remaining. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound DeMatha Catholic (Jessup, Maryland) product originally committed to MSU on April 20, 2020.

247Sports rated Booth as a three-star prospect and the No. 30 overall recruit in the state of Maryland. He was also rated as the No. 102 overall cornerback prospect in the nation.

Booth initially chose MSU over the likes of Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, Buffalo, Ohio, Kent State, UMass, Temple and Norfolk State. He is also the fifth Spartan of the 2021 class to enter the transfer portal after tight end Kameron Allen, safety Michael Gravely Jr., and defensive ends Alex Okelo and Tyson Watson. Allen (SMU) and Watson (UMass) have since found new schools.

The Spartans have a deep cornerback room with the return of starters Ronald Williams, Charles Brantley, Chester Kimbrough and Marqui Lowery as well as depth options Khary Crump and Justin White. Georgia transfer Ameer Speed joined the team in January; the incoming 2022 class also features three stars Caleb Coley and Ade Willie.
