DJ Spotlight of the Week: Mason

This week the spotlight is on Mason Vore. You may know him as DJ Gravedigger when he is on air on Fridays from 12pm-2pm. Mason is a fantastic DJ, but is also our wonderful Music Director! 

 

Where are you from?

Austin, Texas

 

Favorite song/album of 2021 

My favorite album of 2021 is Jubilee by Japanese Breakfast

 

What made you decide to join The IMPACT and become a DJ?

I had a passion for music and really wanted to write about it.

 

What has been your best on-air experience?

My best on-air experience was being able to give my brother a live shout-out the day before his marathon.

 

What is the best concert experience you have had? Why? 

The best concert experience I’ve ever had is seeing Big Thief live in Chicago. Their set blew away all the expectations I had and hearing “Not” live was a life affirming experience for me.

 

How do you think working in radio will affect your future career and life?

It’ll help me communicate more confidently and clearly!

Plan a dinner in East Lansing with any person dead or alive. Who would it be? Where would you go?

I’d take Wallace Shawn to get some wings from Eastside Fish Fry and then take a walk around Moores Park

 

What is your comfort TV show?

Malcolm in the Middle 

 

Favorite College Memory?

My favorite college memory is walking to Pinball Pete’s in a near blizzard and winning some dinos to take home.
