Top 5 Albums of 2021: Nick Sanchez
January 13, 2022
As we wrap up the year, we’re sharing some of our staff members’ favorite albums of the year. Here’s Nick Sanchez’s list.
5. The Armed – ULTRAPOP
A fuzzy, crunchy, at times indecipherable avalanche of sound that foretells a musical revolution. If this is what the future of punk sounds like, count me in.
4. Injury Reserve – By The Time I Get To Phoenix
What can I say about this that hasn’t already been said? A gorgeous and glitched-out goodbye to Groggs, RIP.
3. Every Time I Die – Radical
ETID reaches what feels like the apex of their work thus far, this work is dripping with mathcore, blues rock, and (funny enough) Radiohead-esque influences. Searing indictments of culture and society capture most of Keith’s furious vocal performance.
2. Silent Planet – Iridescent
The master storytellers finally decided to turn the lens on themselves, the result is an emotional gut-punch that won’t be quickly forgotten.
1. Turnstile – GLOW ON
The best good vibes hardcore album released in decades, there is not a wasted second on this LP.
