No positive tests amongst MSU student athletes and staff members in latest round of testing

EAST LANSING— During the week of May 7-13, Michigan State conducted 245 COVID-19 PCR tests on student-athletes and athletic department staff members. In total, 194 total tests were administered on student-athletes, and 51 were issued to eligible staff members. Overall, no student-athletes or staff members tested positive for COVID-19.
Since the beginning of June, MSU has administered over 25,200 tests on student-athletes and staff members with 259 total positive tests for student-athletes and 42 positive results for athletic department personnel.
This is the third consecutive week in a row where less than two student-athletes and staff members tested positive for COVID-19. It is also the fourth consecutive week with no positive tests concerning the staff member community. During the week of April 2-8, five athletic department staffers contracted the virus.
