LANSING— For the third time in less than a week, Lansing mayor Andy Schor has received a local labor union endorsement.

On Thursday, the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights formally endorsed Schor in his reelection campaign. The Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights represents and advocates for Michigan union carpenters and millwrights.

“The Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights is committed to improving the lives of those in our communities through the hard work of our highly qualified union members.  MRCC and our members have worked closely with Lansing Mayor Andy Schor and we are proud to endorse Andy Schor for a second term so we can continue this work,” said Lisa Canada, the director of the MRCC.

Schor, who received the endorsement of the MRCC in 2018 as well, credited area carpenters and other skilled workers for “being an asset as we rehab, redevelop and rebuild our city to provide for a more vibrant community.”

Earlier in the week, Schor was endorsed by unions representing workers at the Lansing Board of Power and Light, as well as area plumbers, pipe fitters and electrical workers. He has also been endorsed by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, former Lansing mayor Tony Benavides and local restaurant owner Gregory Eaton.
