EAST LANSING— Following a week where Michigan State didn’t play a single game due to postponements from COVID-19 the Spartans remained out of the top 25 in this week’s AP poll rankings. While still garnering three votes, the Spartans will most likely remain out of the Top 25 going forward since their only scheduled game this week, against No. 22 Illinois, has also been postponed due to COVID-19. As such, the Spartans will remain at 8-4 on the season with a 2-4 record in Big Ten play.
The full poll can be found below: (First-place votes are in parentheses)
12. Texas Tech
14. West Virginia
15. Ohio State
16. Virginia Tech
25. Saint Louis
With a two-week midseason break of sorts, Tom Izzo and the Spartans will look to regroup and reload for a stretch to end the season that includes two games each against No. 15 Ohio State and No. 7 Michigan, a matchup against No. 4 Iowa, and the potential scheduling of the three postponed games.
