Position: Center
Shot: Left
Age: 18
Draft: (2014) 1st round, No. 15 overall

Dylan Larkin is a 18-year-old native of the suburbs of Detroit. Born in Waterford, Mich. and raised in Clarkston, Larkin has been a Red Wings buff since the day he was born.

Beginning his on-ice career with the Lakeland Hockey Association of Waterford, he later became a part of the Belle Tire Hockey Club. There, he was named captain of the national championship Bantam club in 2011.

Larkin applied, has been admitted and is committed to the University of Michigan for the fall. Prior to his admission, Larkin played in the U.S.H.L., for the U.S. National Team Development program.

In his first season, he posted 27 points in 55 games. In 2013-2014, his second season in the U.S.H.L., Larkin flourished with the Under-18 team scoring 31 goals, second overall on the team. In 60 games, he accumulated 56 points.

At the end of 2014, Larkin was the assistant captain for Team USA’s gold-medal winning club at the Under-18 World Championship. Including a goal in the gold medal game, Larkin posted two goals and two assists in the tournament, falling three points short of his performance in 2013 where he had seven points in six games with the Under-17 World Hockey Challenge club.

The development of the 18-year-old is highly anticipated by coaches worldwide, which is the reason for his high draft slot. He skates extremely well and has a phenomenal way of closing off plays with his body and speed. The skill is there and he is nowhere near afraid of being physical to get the puck.

Larkin has been most noted for his good vision and playmaking ability throughout every part of his game.
