A Victory for Spartans in Last Road Game of Season

With the regular season coming to an end, the Lady Spartans are having a busy week. With three games this week the Spartans are off to a great start. Coming off of a great win at home against Minnesota, they headed to Evanston, Ill. to take on Northwestern.

In the Thursday night game, the Spartans took home a 75-44 victory over Northwestern. This was the Spartans last road game of the season. With this win, the Spartans are now 12-3 in the Big Ten. They are now tied with No. 17 Nebraska and No. 11 Penn State for first in the Big Ten, and they have only one game left to try and break the tie.

In the game against Northwestern, both Aerial Powers and Annalise Pickrel had double-doubles. Powers led the team with 19 points and 13 rebounds while Pickrel scored 15 points along with 11 rebounds.

Along with Powers and Pickrel, several Spartans have reached new heights with the win against Northwestern. Redshirt freshman Branndais Agee had six rebounds which was her most-ever in any Big Ten game. Senior Klarissa Bell is now 20th on Spartan career assist list with 241 and freshman Tori Jankoska is now 19th on the Spartans career 3-point field goal list with 59.

The Lady Spartans have now won 20 games in 11 consecutive seasons. This is the longest active streak in the Big Ten and MSU is now one of nine teams to ever have this record.

No. 21 Michigan State (20-8, 12-3) will play their last game of the regular season at home against Indiana (18-10, 5-10).

The game is set for March 2 at 6 p.m.
