Softball Travels to Purdue for Second Big Ten Series

Coming off of a 0-3 Big Ten start, Michigan State’s softball team looks for a comeback in their series against Purdue this weekend.

The three games will be played in West Lafayette, Ind. at the Boilermaker Softball Complex.

Purdue is in the midst of a seven-game winning streak and most recently sweeping Penn State, by winning all three of the games in the series.

MSU has been off to a rocky start, with five games having been cancelled due to inclement weather.

Destinee Luna is a player to watch after leading the team in hits against Ohio State and achieving her career single-game high with three hits in game two of the series.

Sarah Gutknecht currently leads the team in overall hits.

The Spartans trail the Boilermakers in the all-time series, 20-27. The first game of the series against Purdue starts at 4 p.m. today.
