In this made-in-heaven mashup between the Beastie Boys’ “Ch-Check It Out” and Daft Punk’s “Around The World” and “Oh Yeah,” remix artist Coins replaces the swanky beat of the original songs with a silky French house groove. The Boys’ distorted, on-the-fly vocals fit perfectly into the clean claps, bass licks and record scratches. I like it more than the original, and that’s saying a lot.
“Check It Out” is a track from Coins’s mashup album Daft Science, which was released on Bandcamp in 2014, but has just recently gained media attention. Unfortunately, the album is available for streaming only.
