VIDEO: Senior Day a Success for Spartan Swimmers

EAST LANSING, Mich. — It was an unusual senior day as Michigan State’s opponent, Denison University, was unable to travel due to inclement weather. The team made they most of what they had with an inter-squad meet.

Despite no opposing school, the Spartans clocked many lifetime-bests, including a pool record in the women’s 200-yard freestyle at 1:33.22 by the team of Summer Strickler, Brooke Telander, Sarah Love and Emily Parsons.

The swimming and diving program said farewell to 13 seniors with a ceremony during the meet that had the athletes joined by their families and coaches.

The Spartan women will travel to Ann Arbor, Mich. on February 7 to face rival Michigan at 5 p.m. and the men will compete the next day at 12 p.m.
