Twitter Reaction to Week 10 #DETvsCHI

After stopping a two-point conversion in the final minute on Sunday, the Detroit Lions held on to a 21-19 victory, winning on the road against the Chicago Bears for the first time in six years.

Matthew Stafford led the Lions’ offense to a score on their first possession of the game and on the opening drive of the second half. Stafford hooked up with Calvin Johnson late in the fourth quarter to give the Lions a 21-13 lead. For the Bears’ final drive, Josh McCown came in for an injured Jay Cutler and led Chicago to a touchdown, only to fall short on the two point conversion attempt.

The Lions are now in command of the NFC North, as the Packers suffered a 27-13 loss to the Eagles — one week after losing their franchise quarterback Aaron Rodgers to a collarbone injury. Detroit’s record improves to 6-3, as they sweep the rival Bears in the 2013 season.

Twitter Reaction:

@ChicagoBears: Touchdown #Bears! Cutler fires a rocket to Brandon Marshall for a 32-yd score. #DETvsCHI

@paulapasche: That was fast – #Bears TD – Cutler to Brandon Marshall for 32 yards to go up 7-0. That’ll teach #Lions to defer.

@SmittyDMR: Good answer by the #Lions Stafford to Durham. 7-7 #Lions #Bears #DETvsCHI

@ttwentyman: That’s 12 plays and 85 yards for the answer. #DETvsCHI

@bobwojnowski: Stafford on absolute fire. OL great protection. Bears in trouble without Tillman. An old-fashioned Black and Blue division shootout!

@NFLDetroitLions: Willie Young heads to the sidelines with a right ankle injury #DETvsCHI

@mikerothstein: And Willie Young back in for the #Lions.

@DetroitLionsNFL: #Bears go for it on 4th-and-1 and don’t make it. No points on the board for Chicago. #Lions 1st-and-10 on the 27. #DETvsCHI

@Hugeshow: Lions D with a huge pick in the end zone. 7-7 late second quarter. The game is live on 107.3 in GR.

@ShepMatt: Levy with 5 picks…tying Mike Lucci and JimmyWilliams for second most in a ss by a LB. (Schmidt 6 in 1958 all time leader)

@paulapasche: First half: Stafford 9-15, 106 yds, 1 TD, 103.8 QB rating; Cutler 12-18, 148 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT, 87.3 rating. Tied at 7-7. #Lions #Bears

@NFLDetroitLions: Reggie Bush breaks off a 40-yard run and is brought down by a horsecollar tackle, tacks on a few more yards for the Lions.

@SportsCenter: MEGATRON! Calvin Johnson’s 8th TD of season gives Lions a 14-7 lead over Bears, ties Herman Moore for most Rec TD in franchise history.

@DetroitLionsNFL: #Lions D holds the #Bears to a field goal after big plays by Marshall and Jeffrey. Detroit leads 14-10 with 7:25 left in the 3rd. #DETvsCHI

‏@ttwentyman: Important possession for Lions up 14-10 with 11:59 to go and the ball at their own 22. A good drive here could go a long way to winning.

‏@ShepMatt: brutal mistake….pass too high for @Bigplaycj and picked by Conti. Bears poised for the lead

@ttwentyman: Holding penalty negates the Forte touchdown. Big call there. Holding Bears to FG has to be considered a small victory. #DETvsCHI

@PrideOfDetroit: Touchdown #Bears. No idea how Alshon Jeffery caught that.

@PrideOfDetroit: Play overturned. The Calvin Johnson rule takes away Chicago’s touchdown. Whew.

@JLowHP19: After a review, touchdown pass to Jeffery overturned. Bears settle for a Gould 32-yard field goal, now trailing 14-13. #DaBears #DETvsCHI

@yukonkimmy: My @DetroitLionsNFL are really scaring me today. Stafford is overthrowing everyone! #DETvsCHI #onepride

@thefadedraider: #DETvsCHI Rare miss between Stafford and Megatron. Close game in Chicago! 1st place on the line! coming down to the wire

@ttwentyman:Incomplete on third down and Bears forced to punt with 5:36 left. #DETvsCHI

‏@paulapasche: With that 11-yd carry, Reggie Bush goes over 100 — has 13 carries, 105 yds. #Lions #Bears

@joeyprokes: We need a touchdown here. We cannot settle for a field goal. CANNOT. #GoLions #DETvsCHI

@CoachRoth: TD Stafford to Johnsons 2:22 to play #Lions up by 8 (PAT pending) #DETvsCHI 21-13

‏@ChicagoBears: Touchdown #Bears! McCown evades the Lions pass rush and finds Marshall in the end zone on 3rd down. 2pt attempt coming. #DETvsCHI

@JLowHP19: WOW. Failed 2-point conversion by Chicago but a late hit gives the Bears another chance. #DETvsCHI #DaBears

adamrank:I love when the Lions do Lions-type things. #DETvsCHI

@DetroitLionsNFL: #Bears attempt at two-point conversion fails after McCown to Marshall touchdown. Fairley with the stop on Forte. :40 left. #DETvsCHI

@SportingNewsChi: The Lions recover the onside kick and they are going to beat the #Bears 21-19. That’s just disappointing.

@RoaryNFL: BIG WIN BOYS!!!! LETS KEEP IT GOING!!!! #OnePride #DETvsCHI
