Tailgating at Michigan State is the norm during football season, but rarely do you see Spartan fans bust out the grills for games at Munn Arena. With the Spartans in the Hockey City Classic in Chicago’s Soldier Field, the door opened for some old-fashioned parking lot tailgating.
In a battle between two Spartan goalies, one current and one future, the U.S. National Team Development Program made another visit to Munn Ice Arena to face off against the Michigan State Spartans in an exhibition match-up.
DETROIT – The Michigan State Spartans (8-11-3) and Michigan Wolverines (11-6-2) faced-off at Joe Louis Arena in their second clash of the season. Michigan’s Phil Di Giuseppe scored with 2:18 remaining to brake a 1-1 tie and even the series.
On what may be one of the more critical weekends of this Big Ten hockey season, Michigan State (6-10-3) will host Penn State (4-12-1) for two matchups on Friday, Dec. 17 and Saturday, Dec. 18 at Munn Ice Arena.
