The Minnesota Vikings dodged a shutout at home against their NFC North rival, the Detroit Lions in a 17-3 loss.

The Lions rose to 4-2 on the season and continued to prove their dominance on the defensive side of the ball.

Lions’ Defense Too Much For Packers

The Detroit Lions bounced back from their Week 2 loss with a 19-7 win at home over the rival Green Bay Packers.

Ford Field was rocking when Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers’ electrifying offense was held to an uncharacteristic 223 total yards. The Lions’ defense continued their streak of holding opponents to less than 80 rushing yards per game. Second-year running back sensation Eddie Lacy  topped out at 11 carries for 36 yards, and his counterpart James Starks finished with eight rushing attempts for 38 yards. Read More…

The Lions defeated the New York Giants 35-14 on the first Monday Night Football matchup of the 2014 NFL regular season.

Wayne State Hosts Lions Training Camp for Public

On Wednesday, July 30 the Detroit Lions practiced away from their usual Allen Park practice facilities at Wayne State’s own Adams Field.

The Lions went through a routine practice showcasing position drills, individual drills, seven-on-sevens and situational scrimmages. This public practice allowed me to walk away with a few different impressions and topics of discussion heading into the Lions’ first preseason game August 9 against the Cleveland Browns. Read More…

Free Agency Options for Detroit Lions

Like every team during the offseason, the Detroit Lions should be scrambling to find free agents to sign. Last year’s offseason saw productive signings like running back Reggie Bush, which worked wonders for the team despite a poor finish overall.

So far, the Lions have already brought on a new head coach and a new offensive coordinator. They have also began work on fixing the holes in the team’s secondary by signing defensive back Isa Abdul-Quddus. Lost Lions Look toward Caldwell
