The Spartans continued their success against Western Michigan University as they found the back of the net four times to come away with the 4-0 win on Wednesday.

A Little Too Familiar?

It’s not uncommon for collegiate soccer players to cross paths with former teammates they played with at the youth soccer level. When the Michigan State Spartans and Western Michigan Broncos take the field on Wednesday at 4 p.m., many paths will be crossed.

Sophomore midfielder, Dewey Lewis, redshirt freshman, Ryan Scott, and junior midfielder, Jason Stacy, grew up on the west side of Michigan and played youth soccer for the Grand Rapids Crew Juniors along with several Western Michigan University players. Read More…

Second Half Goals Give Men’s Soccer the Win

A young Wisconsin Badgers team surprised the Spartans early, but in the end the experience of Michigan State gave them the 2-1 win.

Within the first minute of the game, the Badgers earned a free kick on the left side of MSU’s 18-yard-box, 30 yards out from goal.

Spartans Back to Winning Ways as Bennett Breaks Shutout Record

In a back and forth match that saw Akron University with much of the possession, the Spartans found a way to put one in the back of the net and kept the Zips from scoring.

Spartans Create Chances, Just Can’t Finish

In a game which Michigan State controlled most of the possession, the Spartans could not put one in the back of the net against Rutgers University, eventually finishing in a 0-0 tie.

From the start of the game, the Spartans brought relentless pressure on the Scarlet Knight defense, earning 12 set pieces in the entire first half, nine of those being corner kicks.

Men’s Soccer Signing Day Exclusive with Damon Rensing

National Signing Day was Wednesday and the Michigan State men’s soccer program received National Letters of Intent from seven high school seniors. Head coach Damon Rensing was in studio to publicly unveil all seven student-athletes to Spartan Nation and discuss his feeling towards this year’s class, his expectations for each individual and explain this past season’s recruiting process.
