Wolverines Overwhelm Michigan State

In a game that was truly a tale of two halves, the No. 20 Michigan Wolverines defeated No. 13 Michigan State 79-70 Sunday afternoon, to take full control of the top spot in the Big Ten.

The Spartans started off well, never trailing in the first half after Michigan led 4-2. MSU led by five in the closing seconds of the first half when Caris LeVert hit a three as time expired, to pull the Wolverines within two at the break.

The No. 13 Michigan State Spartans (22-5, 11-3) are headed to Ann Arbor, Mich. to battle against the rivaled No. 20 Michigan Wolverines (18-7, 10-3).

Spartans Shoot the Lights out in Win Over Purdue

Gary Harris and company hosted a shooting clinic in West Lafayette, Ind. on Thursday.

Michigan State started their game against Purdue on an unprecedented 11-14 streak from beyond the arc. Harris led the way for the Spartans with six three-pointers, finally breaking out of his shooting slump. He finished with 25 points, far surpassing his average of just over 13 points per game during his six-game shooting slump.

Spartans Prepare to Face-off against Boilermakers on the Road

The No. 13 Michigan State Spartans (21-5, 10-3) are on the road once again headed to West Lafayette, Ind. to take on the Purdue Boilermakers (15-10, 5-7).

In the Spartans’ last game they suffered a disappointing loss to unranked Nebraska at home, losing 60-51.

Road to the B1G Title Even Tougher with Loss to Nebraska

When Terry Braverman, the PA announcer at the Jack Breslin Student Events Center, announced the score of the Wisconsin vs. Michigan men’s basketball game, the crowd erupted. Bo Ryan and his squad did their job and dismantled Michigan in Ann Arbor.

All Michigan State had to do was beat a middle-of-the-pack team and they would sit alone atop the Big Ten.

But the Cornhuskers had other plans.

BREAKING: Mark Hollis Announces Barnstorming Event for 2018

Michigan State’s athletic director, Mark Hollis, shared plans with ESPN Wednesday for a four-team “barnstorming event” to occur over winter break in 2018.

According to ESPN.com, Hollis has organized a three-city, four-team tour that includes Michigan State, North Carolina, Florida and Texas playing games in New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles. Each team will play three games in an eight day period, one in each city.

The Spartans come into the game a half game ahead of No. 10 Michigan in the Big Ten standings, after No. 17 Iowa beat the Wolverines, 85-67, on Saturday.
