Women’s Hockey Suffers First Loss of Season

It was not the start to the new year that the MSU women’s hockey team was hoping for.

Going into last weekend’s contest against Robert Morris, Michigan State was one of only two teams in the ACHA Women’s D-I division to be undefeated.

However, the Spartans’ unbeaten streak ended after they fell to the Robert Morris Eagles 6-3 on Saturday night after playing to a 2-2 tie the previous evening. Read More…

And the Award Goes To…

The Division-I Lady Spartan hockey team’s season came to an end this past March in Delaware.

Michigan State earned a bid to nationals where they competed for a championship during the tournament, but unfortunately came up short.

The Spartans failed to advance to the semi-finals after losing their first two games (5-1 to Miami of Ohio and 4-3 to Rhode Island.) In their third and final game of the tournament, MSU defeated Michigan 4-3 in overtime.

Chippewas No Match for the Spartans

Coming off a weekend sweep against the No. 6 Grand Valley State Lakers, the Division I Lady Spartans were looking to continue their winning ways against Central Michigan.

In Saturday’s contest at Munn Ice Arena, the Spartans dominated the play up and down the ice and defeated the Chippewas, 16-1, with all but two players gaining a point.
