Izzo Rocks Michigan State Madness

On an unseasonably warm October night, Spartan fans from around the state packed in to the Breslin Center to witness the spectacle that is Michigan State Madness (formerly known as Midnight Madness). Lines wrapped all the way around the stadium, one even stretching from the Magic Johnson statue to Shaw Lane.

Coach Tom Izzo has built quite the reputation for flashy entrances, and spectators were clueless as to what he might do this time. In recent years, Izzo rode in on a horse, came in dressed as Iron Man and even had a little help from a real-life Spartan, Gerard Butler. The Pact – #36 – 6/23/14

On this week’s show, Fino Faith and Austin welcomed MSU basketball redshirt senior Keenan Wetzel into the studio. With the recent transfers and fast approaching season on the horizon, MSU basketball was not the discussion however. Wetzel’s off-the-court endeavor, The Cager, a short film written and directed by Wetzel starring ex-Spartan Delvon Roe, was where the discussion began. Accompanied by fellow MSU student and the film’s producer, Nick Stachurski, the two showcased their individual plans and goals for the 25-minute film about a former college basketball star adjusting to life without a back up plan.
