Host Dan Tyler welcomes new co-host Andre Sims Jr. to the show. Sims Jr, a receiver and punt returner for the Spartans, discusses what it was like being a part of Spartan football history this past season.
Michigan State’s recent Pro Day is also discussed and so is the effect it had on the players entering the upcoming draft.
Michigan State enjoyed a dream season in 2013, finishing 13-1 with a Rose Bowl victory over Stanford.
Now, over two months removed from that season, the Spartans have began reaping the benefits. They wrapped up one of the best recruiting classes in the conference after National Signing Day.
1. Houston Texans: Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina
The Seattle Seahawks proved that defense wins championships, and for a team that expected to go to the Super Bowl but fell way short due in part to injuries, you cannot pass on Clowney. With Clowney and J.J. Watt as bookends on the defensive line, offensive lines will have a hard time stopping this possible tandem. Clowney’s work ethic has been a big question mark, but Brian Cushing and Watt should be able to set him straight. Although the quarterback situation is not pretty, somebody like A.J. McCarron (Alabama) would be a nice selection in a later round.
Michigan State cornerback Darqueze Dennard had a breakout year in 2013. He was crowned the nation’s best defensive back after winning the Jim Thorpe Award and helped pace the Spartans’ defense to a top five national ranking.
Dennard’s individual success, along with the team’s on-field success, has allowed his NFL draft stock to skyrocket.
Big Ten Coach of the Year, National Assistant Coach of the Year and the Jim Thorpe Award.

Michigan State cornerback Darqueze Dennard has had a great season thus far, leading the Spartans’ top-ranked defense in interceptions (4), pass break-ups (7), and passes defended (11).
Those kind of stats were good enough to make Dennard a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award, that is given each year to the nation’s top cornerback. Read More…
IOWA CITY, Iowa – Stellar defense led the Michigan State Spartans to a 26-14 victory over Iowa, in their first Big Ten game of the 2013 season.
Starting quarterback Connor Cook helped lead the offense to welcomed success Saturday, with career highs in pass attempts (41) and passing yards (277), while adding two touchdowns through the air. Read More…
