Last Leg – #9 – 7/26/14

While summer may be slow for some, MSU redshirt freshman thrower, Katelyn Daniels, has been training in East Lansing all summer and competed in the USATF Junior Championship in early July placing second in the discus and third in the shot put. This week, she is back in Eugene, Oregon preparing for the IAAF World Junior Championship on July 24-25.

Alexa McCarthy talks to the Columbus, Ohio native about the similarities between gymnastics and throwing, her recruiting journey and even Lebron James’ move back to Ohio.

A Look Back to the Past

It seems so long ago that the Detroit Pistons were the perennial powerhouse in the NBA’s Eastern Conference. What happened to the team that made it to six consecutive Eastern Conference Finals and back-to-back NBA Finals appearances?

June 1 marked the 10-year anniversary of when the Pistons beat the Indiana Pacers 69-65, which sent them to their first Finals appearance since 1990.

Pistons Weekly Recap: February 5-10

Wednesday night, the Detroit Pistons finished their two-game Florida road trip against the Orlando Magic.

The Magic had no trouble scoring against the Pistons’ defense, scoring more than 30 points in the second and third quarters. It was another lackluster performance from the Pistons as they lost 112-98.

Pistons Weekly Recap: December 21-27

The Detroit Pistons had a busy week, facing off against the Houston Rockets, Cleveland Cavaliers and Orlando Magic.

Detroit hosted the Rockets on Saturday, where the matchup to watch was Andre Drummond against Dwight Howard. Early on, it was clear who was the better player, as Howard put up 14 points in the first quarter and forced Drummond out of the game.
