Bittersweet Spartan Symphony

Last.

This bittersweet adjective is one that MSU seniors have been using a lot lately when referring to the winter of their collegiate experience. The last semester, last class, last chance.

For Michigan State’s heavyweight, Mike McClure, his last season for MSU went out on a highlight. McClure finished the NCAA Championship with a fifth place finish and secured All-American honors over the weekend. McClure is the first Spartan All-American heavyweight since Don Whipp in 1993.

Michigan State Wrestlers Gets First Big Ten Win

Michigan State’s wrestling team got their first Big Ten victory in the last conference match of the year against the Indiana Hoosiers on Sunday.

This is was a huge win for the Spartans and head coach Tom Minkel who have strived for their first Big Ten victory all year. Both squads were searching for the elusive Big Ten win going into the dual.

Wrestling Closes out Big Ten Season on the Road

Michigan State’s wrestling team looks to close out the Big Ten dual season on a high note this weekend.

The Spartans (5-9, 0-6) will go up against No. 13 Ohio State (8-4, 3-4) on Friday and Indiana (8-8-1, 0-3) on Sunday. The Friday dual is being hosted by OSU at Massillon Perry High School in Massillon, Ohio at 7 p.m. On Sunday, MSU heads to Bloomington, Ind. to take on the Hoosiers at 2 p.m.
