Connor Cook and the Spartan offense responded to an early deficit against the Oregon Ducks’ high-speed offense. But they were only able to score three points in the second half, and ultimately fell short, losing 46-27.

Marcus Mariota led the Ducks on their first scoring drive after a Cook interception, with running back Thomas Tyner scoring on a one-yard touchdown run.

It was a heavyweight fight from there, as Cook and the Spartans were able to come away with the 24-18 halftime lead. Cook connected with Tony Lippett and Josiah Price for touchdowns, and Jeremy Langford ran one in on his own.

But the second half was all Ducks.

The Spartan defense was not able to limit the big plays of Oregon, and their offense was only able to score three points of their own.
