East Lansing — Coming off their tough loss to Nebraska, the No. 13 Michigan State Spartans are battling to get back on track. Failing to convert points off great field position, the Spartans are leading the Terrapins 17-7.

The first touchdown of the game on a 10-yard touchdown pass from Tyler O’Connor to Macgarrett Kings Jr. Starting QB Connor Cook has been on-and-off the field during the half with a shoulder injury.

Two interceptions provided a spark for the Spartans to close out the half. Riley Bullough intercepted a pass and scampered 44 yards into the end zone to put MSU ahead 14-7.  On the very next possession for the Terps, Arjen Colquhoun added his own interception, marking the 27th time a Maryland quarterback has thrown a pick this season. 

Kicker Michael Geiger added a 35-yard field goal at the end of the have to increase the lead to 10.

This season, Michigan State has outscored opponents 78-3 off of turnovers.
