Opinion: Lions Season a Success on Thanksgiving

As I watched the Lions get set to take the field against the Packers on Thursday at Ford Field, it dawned on me how important a victory would be for the team. Obviously, being tied with the Bears atop the NFC North with a chance at a second playoff berth in three years, a divisional rival game is important. Obviously, it would be nice to win a game at home on Thanksgiving and avoid losing 10 straight on the holiday. The Pact – #5 – 11/11/13

MSU women’s field hockey took home the Big Ten Championship Sunday and claimed a position in the NCAA Tournament.

Twitter Reaction to Week 8 #DALvsDET

The Detroit Lions won 31-30 in a thriller on Sunday, as Matthew Stafford literally sneaked into the end zone with 12 seconds remaining.

Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant created a great deal of hype leading up to the game, claiming that he was better than Calvin Johnson. Bryant certainly had Twitter blowing up after a long touchdown reception, following his sideline temper-tantrum. Read More…

Lions Fall Short 27-24 to Bengals

A last-second field goal by Cincinnati Bengals’ Mike Nugent sealed the deal for the Bengals, as they stunned the Lions at Ford Field Sunday.

Lions Wide Receiver Calvin “Megatron” Johnson came through with the play of the game, with an incredible catch in triple coverage to tie the game at 24 in the fourth quarter. Johnson also had an impressive 27-yard touchdown in the 3rd quarter, but, in the end, his stand-out performance was not enough for the Lions to come out on top. Read More…

NFL Films debuted the documentary of Matt Millen on the NFL Network Tuesday.  Titled “A Football Life: Matt Millen,” the film gave details on his infamous tenure as GM of the Detroit Lions.  The Detroit Free Press article published days before the documentary aired, shed light on Millen’s decision making process and struggles with the Lions.
