Detroit waited until 3:51 EST to make it official before the 4 p.m. trade deadline on July 31. The Tigers traded left-handed pitcher Drew Smyly and outfielder Austin Jackson as a part of the three-team deal with the Tampa Bay Rays and Seattle Mariners that sent Smyly to Tampa and Jackson to Seattle. Spartans Post Best Score In Second Round of National Championships

In the second round of the national championship, the Michigan State Spartans beat the other top 23 teams in the country to earn the best score at three-over-par (283).

It is beginning to sound like a broken record at this point, as the Spartans were led by their three seniors who all have three Big Ten Championship titles to their credit.

Allyssa Ferrell, who kept the Spartans from falling too far out of contention in the first round by posting a one-under-par 69, made sure that people knew that was no fluke. Read More…

A Wild Week in Baltimore

A quiet May series in Baltimore has led to drama and determination for Detroit.

However, the unexpected is what makes every game in the 162-spread season one to watch. Read More…

Drummond Does Work

This season for the Detroit Pistons has, in many ways, followed the same course as every other playoff-less season at The Palace.

The team currently has a 17-23 record, which earns them seventh place in the Eastern Conference. Considering the fact that the East has four teams with losing records that are currently in playoff contention, these numbers will get them in.

Is that really what the Pistons are about? Read More…
