Northwestern Comes to the Breslin

Saying Michigan State is “on a roll” after two double digit wins might be a bit of an exaggeration but the Spartans have a chance for their first three game winning streak in a month as they square off against the Northwestern Wildcats Sunday afternoon in East Lansing.

The Wildcats (10-5, 1-1) split their first two conference games against Rutgers and Wisconsin. Northwestern handled Rutgers in New Jersey for a 51-47 victory but could not compete against the powerhouse Badgers. Read More…

Injured, Rusty Spartans Survive Oakland

A short-handed Michigan State team narrowly edged Oakland University, 67-63, Saturday night at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

The Spartans were without Gary Harris due to an ankle injury, Matt Costello because of mononucleosis and Kenny Kaminski who is suspended indefinitely, due to academic issues. Read More…

Spartans Survive Columbia

In what was supposed to be a victory lap following a win against the No. 1 team in the nation, Michigan State struggled to defeat the Columbia University Lions 62-53 Friday night.

The Spartans started the game on a 9-0 run, but struggled to get out in transition for much of the game, with scoring on the fast break. State only had 10 fast break points on the game. Columbia led 26-22 at the half. Read More…
