Athlete of the Week: Amanda Tapp

In our inaugural Athlete of the Week feature, Impact Sports talked with Amanda Tapp, goalie for the D-II Michigan State women’s ice hockey team. The Bloomfield Hills, Mich. native is a senior majoring in kinesiology and will be a three-year veteran.

What is your favorite Gatorade flavor?  

Cool Blue.

What is your favorite in season memory?

Taking the team vans to nationals and bonding with the team throughout that whole experience.

What is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you?  

Going on the ice with my skate guards on at states and falling in front of everyone.

It is 2 a.m. on a weekend and you are just getting home, what food are you ordering?

Pizza.

What do you want to be when you grow up?  

An occupational therapist, working with people with disabilities.

What song pumps you up the most when you are warming up?  

“Summer Overture” by Clint Mansell.

Do you have a favorite class you have taken at MSU?  

Anatomy.

Where is your favorite place on campus?  

IM Circle.

What is your guilty pleasure TV show?

Grey’s Anatomy.

What is something most people would not know or expect about you?  

Most people would expect me to be the goalie on the hockey team, but I have a horse.
