The 2013 season was a great year for recruiting on the offensive side for Michigan State.
Before the rise of Jeremy Langford, the running back position was a big question mark for the Spartans. This year, MSU is adding some depth in the offensive backfield with three incoming freshmen.

RB Gerald Owens, West Deptford H.S. (Westville, N.J.)
The power and size of Owens will compliment the speed of Langford. The 6-foot-1-inch, 255 pound Owens rushed for over 900 yards in his senior season at West Deptford High School. In his highlights below, Owens is not solely a power back, as he has speed that does not exactly match his size.
RB Madre London, St. Thomas Aquinas H.S. (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.)
The Spartans were one of several Big Ten schools pursuing London, a 6-foot-1-inch, 205-pound running back from Florida. Illinois, Wisconsin, Nebraska and Rutgers all had offers out to London. He signed his National Letter of Intent in February, which was three months after verbally committing to MSU.
