Hockey Names Ferrantino New Captain

After the recent departure due to the graduation of captain Greg Wolfe, Michigan State hockey was looking to fill the leadership role for 2014-2015 season.

Yesterday afternoon, head coach Tom Anastos announced that sophomore forward Michael Ferrantino would be the next Spartan captain.

“Michael embodies all the characteristics that we value in a leader,” said Anastos, according to msuspartans.com.

Ferrantino will enter his junior season with the ‘C’ stitched on his jersey and is the 70th Spartan to wear that letter in program history.

Ferrantino has lead a few teams throughout his hockey career, but understands this is a much bigger stage.
