Spartans Prep for Clemson Invitational

Michigan State continues their crusade to reach the NCAA rankings this weekend at the two-day Clemson Invitational at Lake Hartwell, S.C. The Spartans have been just shy of the national polls for several weeks in a row, receiving eleven votes at the last polling period, and will need a strong performance this weekend if they hope to convince the voters that they deserve a spot in the NCAA Tourney.

MSU will be competing with as many as 20 other teams including eight teams ranked in the top 20. Even though MSU beat Minnesota last weekend, their loss to No. 15 Wisconsin did not help their rankings. The Spartans may have a chance for payback as Wisconsin will also travel to South Carolina.

Michigan State has only two more races left after this weekend before the B1G Tournament. They must have strong showings from here on out if they want to climb their way into the NCAA Tournament.
