Boilermakers Dominate First Game in Series against MSU

The Spartans fell at the hands of the Purdue Boilermakers on Friday losing 10-1.

This marked an eight-game winning streak for the ladies of Purdue.

MSU had the lead early on with Shanin Thomas scoring a run in the second inning, but the Spartans did not score again. Purdue went on to score three runs in the fourth inning and took the lead.

Purdue pitcher Lilly Fecho only allowed four hits and gave up just one run in six innings.

MSU falls to 7-19 (0-4 Big Ten) while Purdue moves up to 17-16-1 (4-0 Big Ten). The Spartans will have two more chances to defeat the Boilermakers and win the series.

On Saturday, the teams will face off again at noon in West Lafayette, Ind. at the Boilermaker Softball Complex.
