The Michigan State (6-9, 0-2) men’s tennis team will try and keep their home undefeated streak alive Sunday against No. 2 Ohio State.

The Spartans lost a heartbreaker Friday to Penn State, 4-3.

Ohio State (18-2, 3-0) is ranked No. 2 in the country, but they have lost their last two road games. The Buckeyes defeated Michigan in Columbus, Ohio on Friday, 6-1.

Michigan State lost last year in Columbus, 6-1, a sophomore at the time, Harry Jadun, provided the lone point.

The Spartans will come into this year’s matchup with a new weapon in freshman Brett Forman, who leads the Spartans with 15 wins in singles competition.

Ohio State has three players with at least 19 overall wins in singles competition: Kevin Metka, Hunter Callahan and Peter Kobelt.

Ohio State’s doubles teams of Metka and Kobelt are 25-6 in doubles competition and have won eight of their last ten matches.

MSU’s Jadun and Gijs Linders are 9-9 overall in doubles competition.

Ohio State sits atop the Big Ten with a 3-0 record while the Spartans are 0-2 and at the bottom of the conference, but nine conference games still remain for the Spartans.
