Spartans Head to Semi Finals of Big Ten Tournament

With the regular season over and a Big Ten championship title under their belt, the No. 2 seed Michigan State Spartans headed to Indianapolis, Ind. to start the tournament.

The Spartans first game of the tournament was played against, No. 7 seed Michigan. The Spartans beat Michigan 61-58 and are now headed to the semi finals.

Senior Annalise Pickrel led the team with 18 points followed by freshman Tori Jankoska who added 14.

The Spartans trailed the Wolverines for most of the game. Late in the second half the Spartans turned it around and scored the last six points of the game.

Redshirt freshman Branndais Agee had a lot to do with the last minute scoring opportunities. Agee made two free throws, grabbed an offensive rebound and scored a basket all within the last few minutes of the game.

The Spartans will now advance to the semi finals and play No. 3 seed Nebraska at 6:00 p.m.
