Octopi Hockeytown Special Edition: Elements of the Winter Classic

The temperature was 13 degrees and heavy snow was continuously falling during the 2014 Bridgestone Winter Classic between the Detroit Red Wings and the Toronto Maple Leafs in Ann Arbor, Mich.

On Octopi Hockeytown, Austin Goodman brakes down the elements of the largest outdoor game to be played in NHL history.

With Dion Phaneuf and Jonathan Bernier playing on top of their game, Jimmy Howard and the Detroit Red Wings had a lot to work against. When the game found its way into a shootout, the outcome was different than the Wings fans had hoped for.

Austin Goodman is the host of Octopi Hockeytown for Impact Sports.
