Powers Earns Two-Time Big Ten Honor

This week, Aerial Powers received the Big Ten Player of the Week award. This is Powers’ second time winning the award this year, while becoming the first Spartan ever to earn the award twice in one season.

Powers, a redshirt freshman who was unable to play last year due to injuries, has been dominating games. She is second on the team in points (14.1), and leads the team in rebounds (7.4) and steals (2.2). She is third on the team in field goal percentage (51.4 percent).

In the Big Ten overall, Powers is fifth in steals, seventh in rebounds, 11th in field goal percentage and 16th in points. She continues to be a great asset to the Spartans and is showing continuous growth.

You can see Powers in action on Thursday when the Spartans take on Oklahoma State in the Puerto Rico Classic. The game will be at 2 p.m. at the Breslin Center.
