VIDEO: Spartans Kick Off Big Ten Schedule Against No. 1 Minnesota Gophers

Michigan State got back to their winning ways last weekend in East Lansing, sweeping the Princeton Tigers, 4-1 and 8-2.

The Spartans’ freshman class contributed two goals in Friday’s game and added another four the following night. Mackenzie MacEachern finished the weekend with one goal and three assists and Joe Cox scored a goal in both games.

“So far those guys seem to be settling in and gaining some confidence,” head coach Tom Anastos said. “I think they’re doing a lot of good things offensively and defensively.”

The Spartans are on a two-game winning streak and have their toughest challenge of the season this coming weekend as the inaugural Big Ten series kicks off against the top-ranked Minnesota Gophers.

The two teams will meet at 7 p.m. on Friday and then 4 p.m. on Saturday.
