MSU Wrestling Kicks Off Season

MSU Wrestling looks to kick off a successful season in Ypsilanti, at Eastern Michigan’s first annual EMU Duals. Half of Eastern Michigan’s Bowen Field House will host an individual tournament, while the other half will be a team dual format.

The Spartans’ schedule starts at 11 a.m. on Saturday versus No. 6 Oregon State Beavers, followed by Utah Valley, Gardner-Webb, and Drexel in that order. Read More…

Dan Krier is joined on Walk the Line Episode 11 by the enthusiastic Anthony Serafino (host of “The Pact” every Monday on Impact Sports), who helps break down the upcoming Michigan State @ Nebraska football game this Saturday in Lincoln, NE (MSU = -6.5…whoa!).

Spartans Head to Syracuse after Dominating Red Hawks

Michigan State hosted the Miami of Ohio Red Hawks this afternoon at Ralph Young Field and earned an NCAA bid. The Spartans shutout the Red Hawks 3-0, and will now travel to New York and play Syracuse this upcoming Saturday.

MSU fell to Miami earlier in the season losing 2-0, but turned the tables and dominated in all aspects of the field today. Spartans outshot the Red Hawks 21-6 and held Miami to zero shots in the first half.

Howard, Wings Fall, Winnipeg Sweeps

A disappointing performance from the Detroit Red Wings turned into a loss, in a shootout against the Winnipeg Jets Tuesday. Pavel Datsyuk, commonly known by the Red Wings color commentator Mickey Redmond as the ‘magic man’, put two goals past Winnipeg’s goaltender. But it was not enough to put the Wings on top at the end.  Read More…

Pistons Recap: Oklahoma City and Portland

The Oklahoma City Thunder came to the Palace of Auburn Hills on Friday for the first and only time this season.

The Pistons held on to a slim two-point lead after the first quarter, mostly due to 10 points by Josh Smith. But Kevin Durant and the Thunder charged back, taking an 11-point lead late in the second quarter. Less than two minutes into the third quarter, the Pistons tied the game back up at 56. Read More…

The Pact – #5 – 11/11/13

MSU women’s field hockey took home the Big Ten Championship Sunday and claimed a position in the NCAA Tournament.

Junior forward Allie Ahern visits the show and discusses her team’s success to this point and previews the NCAA tournament, which the Spartans begin Wednesday, in East Lansing.

Lupe Izzo, wife of MSU Head Basketball Coach Tom Izzo, gives her opinion of this year’s Spartan Squad, provides her insight on the Spartan head coach, and shares some personal stories from her years in the MSU family.
