After a bye week in East Lansing, the 16th ranked Spartans are preparing for a huge matchup in Lincoln, Nebraska this Saturday against the 7-2 Cornhuskers.

There was a lot of doubt surrounding this Michigan State team after the non-conference play, but people are starting to jump on the bandwagon after they have raced out to a perfect 5-0 record in conference play, leading the Legends Division.

“I’m satisfied because our players are playing well, and I’m satisfied because we win,” Mark Dantonio said.

Dantonio stressed the team still has a lot to achieve and there is room for improvement.

The Spartans can take a big step in achieving their bigger goals this season with a win against Nebraska, which would clinch at least a share of the Legends Division title for the Spartans.

This will be a tough task for the Spartans as they have gone 0-2 against the Huskers since they joined the Big Ten.

Michigan State lost a heartbreaker last season after giving up a 24-14 lead with just over 7 minutes remaining in the game to lose 28-24.

It was more lopsided two seasons ago in Lincoln, as the Spartans came in ranked 11th in the nation but failed to get any offense going, losing 24-3.

Coach Dantonio was asked if he thought his players were overwhelmed by the Nebraska fans two years ago, to which he replied “No, by the environment, not really by the crowd.”

The 2013 Spartans will need to deal with the environment better this year, as Lincoln is sure to be rocking this Saturday.
