MSU continued their winning ways this past weekend, as they swept American International College in a doubleheader. Behind the Mask host David Defever and hockey contributor Lou Divizio bring you video highlights and postgame analysis.
The Spartans held on to win 5-4 on Friday night against the Yellow Jackets, and dominated Sunday’s contest 4-0.
Senior goaltender Will Yanakeff got the call for Sunday’s matinee game, and posted his first shutout of the season and eighth of his career.
“I thought it was a good game and I felt really relaxed,” Yanakeff said.
“We fought hard and battled to the end.”
Freshmen forward Mackenzie MacEachern started the scoring for the Spartans in the second period, and added another goal in the third. Greg Wolfe added a power play goal and Joe Cox also scored for the Spartans.
Next weekend, MSU will travel north to play the Michigan Tech Huskies in a two-game series.
