Fur Trade – Kids These Days

Straight out of Vancouver, British Columbia, Fur Trade make the kind of unexpectedly warm and sensible indie rock that one can never have too much of. Reminiscent of a cross between Kaiser Chiefs, Vampire Weekend, and The Bravery, smooth guitar lines mix with straight-forward drums under the scratchy-yet-comfortable blanket that is the vocals of Hot Hot Heat singer Steve Bays. Adam West Is Coming To Michigan State!

You’ve heard him on Family Guy. You’ve seen him starring in the hit TV series Batman. Now,  get behind the scenes and meet the real Adam West! Mayor West is coming to East Lansing on August 26th to hangout at Spartan Bookstore from noon to 2pm to sign autographs, and will be at the MSU Union Ballroom at 7pm for a special behind-the-scenes interview, hosted by Impact 89FM! Both events are free and open to the public, so come by and meet the original Caped Crusader in person!

Impact’s mtvU College Radio Countdown Viewing Party!

Impact 89FM has been selected by mtvU for their College Radio Countdown during the week of August 20th, and we’re inviting YOU to come watch it with us!  College Radio Countdown gives college radio stations across the country the opportunity to call out their favorite videos on mtvU, and share them with the world! Come by Impact’s newly remodeled studio on August 20th at 8pm, to hangout with our staff, enjoy some pizza and boardgames, and watch the episode premier at 9pm! Check out this Facebook event for more details on the party. Our Countdown features the top-ten music videos that represent WDBM, and is paired with a hilarious introduction video that the Impact staff made specially for this occasion! Stay tuned to Impact89FM.org leading up to the premier for some behind the scenes action from our College Radio Countdown introduction video shoot!
