10 Artists That You Could Have Been

Here are 10 artists that are so young and so successful that you will ask yourself “What have I been doing with my life?!”

1. Lorde – 17
lorde-billboard-650-430
Lorde is probably one of the youngest ones on this list who at 17 would have been still in high school. If that doesn’t make you feel old, at the age of 13 she signed with the large label Universal. Not only is this 17 year old making hit records like Pure Heroine which she released in September 2013, but she’s also making waves by winning awards like Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance, both of which she was awarded at the 56th Grammy Awards.

Shannon and the Clams – Rat House

After you watch this video, you’ll know why it’s our Jam of the Day. The lyrics will be stuck in your brain for days, “I don’t wanna/ I don’t wanna/ DIE DIE DIE DIE.” The video was made by the band themselves and is perfectly weird. A gorilla playing the drums with fried chicken? Check. Skateboarders wearing strange costumes? Check. And just to add some extra sparkle, LOTS of glitter. Shannon and the Clams’ album, Dreams in the Rat House is out now on Hardly Art.

Thee Oh Sees – Drop

If you’re wondering why we’ve been talking about Thee Oh Sees so much, you obviously haven’t been listening. They just released a spiraling new video for their song “Drop” off of their new record out April 19th on Castle Face. The video is animated like the last Oh Sees video for the song, “Penetrating Eye” but in a different style. You know when you get bored and start to doodle in class? Yeah, this video is just like that except the drawings come to life then hypnotize you.
