You might disagree, but Scott Hansen, better known by Tycho, is in our opinion quite the interesting musician. We had the chance to sit down with him before his show at The Crofoot back in April. Also, this video will definitely prep you or fill the empty spot left in your head that’s dedicated for Electric Forest this weekend.

Philadelphia dream pop/shoegaze band, A Sunny Day in Glasgow, just dropped an amazing new album called Sea When Absent, which has been rotation all week for me. While listening to this LP it’s hard to imagine that the band was actually never together at the same time during the recording, but at the same the the recordings feel just disconnected enough for it to be real. Early released tracks “Byebye, Big Ocean (The End)”, and “In Love With Useless (The Timeless Geometry in the Tradition of Passing)” had my hopes very high for the full length, but it did not disappoint. As you delve further in this thing, allowing the ethereal vocals and hazy instrumentals to overcome you, you realize that this album wasn’t made to make you sad, it was made to help you when you’re feeling down and bring you back up with it’s huge choruses and bright, gleaming synth leads. At least, that’s what it did for me. Read More…

Bleached just released the A side to their new 7inch record that will be released September 16th on Dead Oceans. It’s called “For The Feel” and it’s going to be your new favorite song to cruise in your car with all the windows down. It’s upbeat, catchy and features a killer guitar solo which lands it in our spot as the Jam of the Day. If you missed it, last year we did an interview with Jennifer Clavin of Bleached that you can check out here!

How to Dress Well is taking over the airwaves with his sultry voice and intriguing beats. In “Face Again” Tom Krell’s voice perfectly syncs up with droning music as well as soulful melodies. Tom Krell isn’t afraid to press the envelope in studio as well as in music videos, this one especially since it depicts a ceremonial burial of some sort. Either way How to Dress is one of the artists to watch this year.
