Yoni Wolf is known by many names. Why?, cLOUDDEAD, and Doseone are just a few of the acts that Wolf has attached his name to. The California-born alternative hip-hop purveyor has been known for making folk and indie rock-tinged hip-hop since 2004. Why? boasts a general eerie feeling, while mixing in inventive beats, imaginative lyrics, and Yoni Wolf’s trademark, Interpol-esque vocal twang. Young Man hails from Chicago by way of Minnesota and provides a smooth-sounding, percussion-based take on contemporary indie rock. With their debut album being released on March 27th, these up-and-comers are just starting out, but it sounds like they already have the suave know-how and passive energy of indie veterans.
